미래 건설 시스템 구축을 위하여 건설 (Construction), 인간공학 (Human Factor), 인공지능 (Artificial Intelligence) 세 분야를 아우르는 융복합 연구를 지향하며 IoT 및 인공지능을 활용한 건설안전 관리 기술, VR/AR/MR을 이용한 건설 교육 및 관리, 건설로봇과 인간의 협업 시스템 디자인 및 개발 등의 연구를 하고 있다. 세부적으로 Predicting Construction Workers’ Habituated Unsafe Behaviors Using Bio-signals, AR based human-robot interface for shared control of intelligent construction robots, Behavior-based construction safety management with autonomous social robots, Development of Multidimensional Moral Turing Test for Ethical Use of Construction Bidding AI, Safety Education for the Prevention of Asphyxiation in Closed Workspaces Using Virtual Reality, Technical Development of Modular Construction in Mid-High Rise Buildings and Higher Productivity 등이 있으며 이에 대한 구체적인 내용은 건설기술연구실(cem.snu.ac.kr)에서 확인할 수 있다. 이렇듯 인간공학, 인공지능, 가상환경, IoT 등의 첨단 기술을 접목한 건설기술 연구를 통해 안전하고 지속 가능한 미래 건설 시스템 구축을 선도하고 있다.
